There's no place like home for Glasgow

Craig Hamilton is an international lock in the making according to Warriors' coach Hugh Campbell
Warriors' head coach Hugh Campbell hopes his team can make good use of a favourable early-season fixture list to provide an early push for success in the Celtic League.

"All the games in this league are going to be tough, so it's a bonus to have a home game to start," says Hugh in today's Scotsman. "It doesn't matter who we're playing because we are confident of beating anyone at Hughenden, and will take that attitude on the road as well. But seven of our first nine games are actually in Scotland, including games at Hughenden and Edinburgh and the Borders, so that's a great opportunity to get some momentum early.

"We've had a very good pre-season build-up and the guys are looking very good physically, which should augur well for later on in the season when we have more away games."

Hugh also confirmed that Huddersfield Giants player Hefin O'Hare has completed his signing, and will arrive when the Giants' Super League involvement is over, Hugh added: "There's no doubt the added strength in depth we have this season is a huge bonus and Hefin will add to that when he arrives. But I also think we have a lot of players now who should be looking to push for Scotland honours, and that starts with good performances for Glasgow. Craig Hamilton is an international second row in the making. Steve Swindall has really impressed me, as has Scott Lawson. Andrew Wilson is coming through well. Colin Shaw is an exciting talent, and our props Euan Murray and Lee Harrison, who missed much of last season, are ones to watch."
